Most probably think I have abandoned my blog.. In a lot of ways I have... I havent wanted to resvisit it because I wasnt sure if I was ready to see and feel what it represented.
through 2010 my goal was to stay positive.. see my life for what it is.. blessed.. and push my self to do things that I never thought I could. Most of my posts reflected just that.
My life has gone through major upheaval since July and I couldnt figure out a way to write about it without it looking like I was airing dirty laundry... I also lost some focus and creativity.
I have seen divorce through the eyes of a bystander.. good friends whose marriages didnt work out for whatever reason...
I wasnt prepared for the feeling of complete and utter failure. I wasnt prepared for the people whom I was close to to choose sides. I wasnt prepared for the heart wrenching pain of seperating myself from an entire extended family.
I thought I could handle what my kids would do... They've been amazing.. I love them so much. I am blessed.
Some months have passed and my outlook has improved. the love in my heart is still there. My ex is still my best friend and we are still a team when it comes to the kids.
Some day I will find someone to share my life with again.. That is not my focus now...
2011 will represent a stronger me. An Independant me. A happy me.

So my sweet, over enthusiastic hubby has us running a half marathon in July.

In all fairness, I signed us up.... but it was his idea!!!!!

Hence:

Hal Higdons 12 week training program for half marathon...NOVICE

yes thats me!! NOVICE runner....is it even running when you can walk faster?

week one_ longest run : 4 miles whew felt awesome, I did it!! 4 miles!!

week two- longest run 4 miles... yippee...

now Im on week 3 just finished my 3rd run for the week

tonight? 3.5...... YOUCH!!!!! why am I so much more sore today?

welp.... i am looking forward to a refreshing 5 mile run on sunday.....

WHATEVER!!!!!

At what point am I going to start liking this BS

Right now, I just feel old....

one more confession... I am way too jealous that my husband can run faster than me.... I mean seriously, so what that he is in terrific shape (woot wooo),,, does he have to show me up like that ;)

It has been a busy busy week... running and working and being productive.. I went from good things happening for my job to..... making the decision to go see my terribly sick grandmother ( I knew I couldn't stand to see her suffering).

~family~
I am only super close to a couple people in my family. I really kinda think I am just a loner. I am an only child raised by a teenage mother whom I have endless issues with. Needless to say we aren't close, we rarely see each other even though we live in the same city. Sometimes I feel really bad about that. My husband reminds me that I would be happy to spend time with her is she had the desire. ....

From my mother, I am blessed with a great big extended family (she has 5 sisters and a brother).
I have grown up with so many cousins and am still close to some today!

Back to my Grandma...... she is sick..... Her lungs are in horrible shape and there are times when she cant breath.. I haven't seen her for a long time .. for no good reason other just being busy with my own brood.. I went to see her this week and she was just good old grandma cracking jokes and singing songs.. I fell in love with her all over again.. how could I go SO long without seeing her!! My grandparents lived in California most of my adult life.. even though I talked to them on the phone occasionally, I was used to not seeing them.... When Grandpa died, she moved back.. I have no good excuse...

Because grandma is sick, My one and only uncle came to town.. Michelle, you said it best when you said all the good memories just came flooding in.... I miss that guy!!!

now the downer..
some days I just don't feel cut out for the real estate biz.. My fun clients whom I was helping them buy a new home and sell their old one...totally got cold feet and backed out of both.. Although I don't blame them and I understood their anxiety ... I felt like I got fired. I am broken hearted today.
well I just have to get back up (again) and go get some more business.
In the last year I have discovered a very stubborn streak in me.. I don't want to fail!! and quitting is failure.. I cant walk away from something even if its making me crazy or breaking my heart... I want it to work! I want to succeed!

My son turned 17 yesterday!! ahhh stop getting older!!!!

Here is hoping for some happy posts next week!!!

Ugh....
started out ok... Im not on the shots now but still need to follow diet for 3 days..
skipped lunch, came home starving ate 3 (60 cals)parmesan crisps (yummy and salty) and 4 slices of salami (100 cals)
GRRRRRRRR........
I guess i will just keep track of the calories and not worry too much about content...LOL

On a brighter note.. my cutest bestest Cuz is opening a Cupcake bakery in Ogden!!!!! I went JuNkIng with her today to furnish the shop and then got a personal tour of her new space! I have soo much fun with that chicky :) I am super excited for the place to open... she has been dreaming of this for a long time!

Business is still super slow for me, Im hoping to pick up soon and If you know anyone who wants to buy or sell real estate, let me know!! xoxoxoxo

I got knocked down last night by a terrible migraine (residual headache still creeping about), all I could think about was who could I buy a percocet from!!! LOL I didnt, I toughed it out.

AHHHH.... I really really tried!!!! I had 2 not so great days this weekend... diet wise anyways...
I had a fun night with friends and started snacking... on strawberries, a crate of strawberries...lol after a while I started dipping them in the fruit dip... after 2 weeks of detox, fruit dip was sugar overload!!! I thought I was tasting pure frosting!!!
Easter sunday, tried to be sooo good but broke down because of my mother inlaws homemade rolls and my devilled eggs!!!
So I am up 1 pound today... 3 days of progress down the drain! Oh well back on the wagon today! I am in the home stretch.. 7 days to go!!!

I havent done this since the first time..

I really laid it all out there!! haha!!

I am seriuosly addicted to facebook and blogger!! I check it ALOT
sometimes when my kids are telling me something.. I space out and say "uh huh"
I pride myself in saying I am my kids biggest fan... when really I would feel like a bad mom if I missed their sporting events
I have been on a strict diet for 2 weeks and have crazy dreams that I totally binge on chocolate ding dongs ( I dont even remember ever eating those)... then I wake up panicking that I totally sabotaged my diet before I realize it was just a dream!! Ha Ha..
I secretly dont want my kids to drive/ get jobs... I am kinda freaking out that they are growing up... DONT TELL THEM THAT!!!
If I would have known how expensive teenagers were 16 years ago... I think I would have spaced them out 5 years and been a little more careful with my BC pills!!
TMI??? I think not!! ha ha

Diet Days...

Oh the battle of the bulge....

weight is my enemy... I drive it away from me

It always comes back!

I want to document my efforts to rid myself of muffin top for good!!

Y'all know I have been running pretty regularly for the last 2 months...

the pounds keep creeping on...

I have decided to take drastic measures!!!

Yes I am still committed to running..

after all I signed up for the Bryce Canyon half... (yikes)

I am on day 2 of a very low calorie diet..

So far so good ... I have consumed gallons of coffee and iced tea...

I cant go longer than 45 minutes without having to pee..

I look like an orphan with no make up and straggly hair..

I've done it 3 times before..

January of 2009.. very successful! went from 193 to 172 in three weeks!

I manages to keep it off because I followed the Diet and maintenance phase very strictly (is that a word)

April 2009....

started out at 175 ( did the diet on vacation in TX capitol of delicious, bad for you, food)

Because we (my bff cuz and I) are so naughty when we are together.. we kept justifying a little treat here and there!! LOL I manage to get down to 160... I did not take the maintenance phase too seriously this time and quickly gained about 8 pounds back..

September 2009

This was such a bad Idea... Coming off of my worst summer stress wise, amidst my grieving husband and

in laws ( my father in law passed away)... I was dieting...

I manged to get down to 152 (lowest ever since I have had kids)

Again I didn't follow the maintenance phase very closely and quickly went up to 157

a month later I was 162

a month later I was 167

Then I had surgery on my foot..

end of December..172

I realized I was having hormonal issues recently and was prescribed birth control pills...

march 22 (the day I started the diet again)... 180

I am so depressed about this... I know weight loss will always be a challenge for me because of my under active thyroid gland.

I is SOOO easy for me to put on the pounds before you can say paradise pie...

I have learned that being stressed does things to your body that are not healthy..

I have learned treats every night and a glass of wine are NOT moderation!!!

I have learned that if you keep walking out your door.. every day.. running will get easier..

Ok... i edited a few more pictures.. I want to say we captured a very sad and dissapointed Bean....

Even though swimming in an individual sport where you win every time your times go down, It still hard to get beat by so many girls who are faster..( especially when you are one of the fastest kids you know).. It was a little bit of a shock to see the tough competition..

I will say I am a PROUD mama!!! Brighton, You swam 7 out of 8 of your events FASTER than you EVER have before!! You have times that are faster than all but one girl that will swim with you next year in highshool...(even the seniors) You WILL break school records!!! You WILL reach your goals!!!

I know right now you are disheartened.. I know you are sad... Think of this as an oppurtunity to learn! Learn from the girls that are FAST.. How do they train?? You have SOO much talent!! You are an angel in the water! Watching you swim is one of my favorite things... You have learned the value of HARD WORK... Now you just have to decide how HARD to WORK... You are my super star Bean! I love you so much!

Ok so Im junping on the bandwagon.. I am still trying to figure out how to link to other blogs successfully.

I LOVE baths... i have been known to take 4 baths in one day... when Im cold, sick, bored... I bathe.
therefore I use lots of lotion
My bed is my second favorite place next to the bath is my bed, I blog, work, watch TV, hang out on my bed.
I am messy by nature. I can overlook clutter but I cant stand dirty floors.
I have one organized spot in my house, my dish cupboard... everything in its place.... everywhere else is a natural disaster!
I am more often than not, too lazy to brush my teeth before bed ( but of course I take a bath).
I secretly hate when my kids have friends over... i hide in my room the whole time they are here, even though i wish I was a fun mom that the kids friends like.
I hate when people chew with their mouths open.
I hide treats from my kids and then get mad at myself when I eat them all myself.
I never make my bed.

I know we all live our lives and go about our daily activities without thinkout how our actions might affect someone else... I know I am outspoken at times.. I hope Im not offensive

I love the people in my life and cannot think of one person in it that I could live without.

I hope each person in my life knows from the bottom of my heart how much they are loved and cherished by me.

Most days I can go about it being thankful and choosing to be positive and happy.

Sometimes that layer peels away,

and I am faced with the Lisa who wants everyone to love her,

and who gets terribly hurt when someone doesn't...

The good Lisa knows that you cant win em all.

The good Lisa knows that one or two people who don't love her, just don't know whats in her heart.

and it shouldn't take away from all the ones who do!

So why does the good Lisa let the selfish Lisa through?

Selfish Lisa is upset at the people who hurt her feelings even though those people have no idea.

Selfish Lisa cant see the positive things in her life,

she only wants to dwell on the hurt.

Poor Selfish Lisa.

She doesnt understand all that is good about her.

she is afraid of the love she has to give..that she might not feel loved in return,

when she should know that the point is just to love...

Hubby and I decided on some fitness goals we can do together....

at the beginning of the year we decided to make it a goal to run a half marathon this spring or summer.....

since running up the stairs of my little tri level split can make me pant a little..

THIS is a hefty goal....

Since all two of you (my readers) know that I had sugery on my toe last month, training isnt going the way I would want it to. ( insert sad face here)

The last two weeks, I have stepped up my fitness routine, mostly treadmill running

( I hate running in the cold air)

I am up to two miles without stopping... I know what your thinking,

"only ELEVEN POINT TWO more to go!"

Now hubby and I have embarked on the P90X voyage!!

TORTURE!!!!

I am on day five and cant walk, lift my arms above my head, and please dont make me laugh

because something might burst

tonight is Arms, shoulders and Ab ripper... yes .. ab ripper

You must be thinking, gee Lis you must be losing some weight with all that activity?

Many of you have heard me gripe and complain about what a tough year I've had.

Layoffs, losing a loved one, some personal trials as well.

2009 will go down in the history books as the year that kept throwing punches and I still got through it!

It wasnt all bad :)

I reconnected with many lost friends whom I love dearly through facebook...

though hubby gripes about the time I spend on there..(He has a valid point)

I count it as a blessing!

I have been able to shed some pounds

(although it keeps trying to find me)

I feel tremendous joy when I think of the beautiful people my children are becoming

I have had small accomplishments in my career.

I have been thinking about my new years resolution for 2010...

There is countless things that I can choose, I think I will do one big resolution for the year and then a monthly objective or two..

what do you think?

If there is one big thing missing in my life..

its charity.

giving my self to ease someone elses pain, trials, etc

I am going to look into volunteering this year... I can't donate large amounts of money but I can donate time.

I have personal goals for 2010

strenghten my family and cherish my hubby

be more reponsible with money

be a better daughter

cultivate my creativity

strengthen my work ethic

be kind

and of course

lose wieght!

These are normal topics of conversation in my house these days.

Of course the kids have a healthy obsession for "The Office"

Seriously...

we have to watch reruns ALL THE TIME.

I have enjoyed alot of down time with the kids this weekend...

I have had to stay off of my feet and Corey has been working.

I have seen the best and the worst of teenagers this weekend.

They have been so attentive and helpful!

making me meals and keeping me company. My daughter has been an angel!

She sacrificed her entire weekend to make sure I wasnt lonely..

She loves me after all!

Mothers of teenagers will understand that statement :)

I have also witnessed how a teenager can take advantage of a situation ...

and use it to misbehave....

One thing I have learned on this quest called parenthood

is that teenage problems are GROWNUP problems.

teenagers lack the skills to cope.

We all fight temptations and we all face adversity.

What those bright faces need is guidence..

and what I need is a stiff drink!!!

Over the years... I have branched out... Opened my mind to the world of hair removal possibilities.....Waxing... effective... yet, painful.... sugaring.. effective yet .......OUCH

The Bic.... orange plastic razor from HELLLL... do not.... likey the bic...

Sensor excell... now there is a nice close shave.... although hubby gets all mad when I borrow his razor... says I "dull the blade"... whatev....

back to the pretty purple dimension of the womens venus... aahhhhh... bliss... with that lovely purple comfort strip....THAT LASTS A TOTAL OF 2 SHAVES.... pshhh... five bucks down the drain... those puppies are pricey....

Its a snow day and my whole family is home! College game day and our team is playing.. the girl made cookies, dad made corn bread and Im making chili!
I love days like this! They fill my tank.... Every day I am reminded how little time I have with my babies!

What I've learned in 2009

You can lose your job and worry about how to feed your family, watch your credit go into the crapper, cry yourself to sleep... and survive

You can have unimaginable things occur in your relationships.... and come through stronger

You can worry worry worry about the teeangers ... and be their bigggest fan.

You can watch a loved one go through the most difficult thing... dying....

and realize YOU have things to do

I have learned you can't win them all.. but you can do your best.

But every day is new...

every day you get out of bed

every day you love and therefore are loved in return.

I will continue to love..

I will love old friends and new friends.

I will love my family,

my husbands family,

my children,

my husband.

I will let the little things roll off my back.

I will do my best not to be offended.

Just love...

C21 retreat...

So I have found I have a little extra time on my hands these days.. lack of friends... lack of business..lol
I have actually had some time to get lost in a book or two.. Current fascination...The Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris... I have no idea if that is the name of the series, but it works if you are searching on amazon.
VERY juicy almost trashy vampire story about a telepath waitress in the deep south, falls in love with a vampire.
Its a quirky take on the whole vampire lore.. mucho entertaining! I just finished the second book (out of 9).
The first one is 'Dead Until Dark"
They arent for every one! Just saying.. If you like trashy romance novels and you like a little suspense.. You might like these books!
